Well, I guess you can call it burnout, but I've gotten to a point in my life where I'm tired of running my own store and want to go back to just designing. So Scraphead is going up for sale. Serious inquiries only, please email me at admin@scraphead.com for information.

I've just renewed the domain through godaddy, so that's good for just under a year more, and the hosting through Bluehost was renewed for a year back in June, so you have about 6 months remaining on it. I've also got dada mail that I use for mailing newsletters, that will come with it as well. Some mods have been installed in Zen Cart. I'd like to stay on board as a designer since I've been there for so long, but I just can't devote my time to all the ins and outs of running it myself anymore.

I hate to do it, I've really loved having Scraphead, but I have to spend more time working outside the home to make ends meet and so this is what has to go.

Wow, talk about neglectful!

First off, I want to apologize for sorely neglecting this blog. I could make all the excuses under the sun with everything that's been going on in my life the last couple months, but I won't bore you with that.

There's been a lot of changes in the past couple months at Scraphead, and I will thankfully say, the majority of them have been for the good. New designers, great new products, new challenges in the forum, the daily coupon download for September, it's been fun and busy! And if you haven't subscribed to our newsletter, you're missing out on some great stuff, including a treat I now have for our subscribers!

Coming in October, we will be having a customer participation activity for the whole month! This will culminate on November 11, which in the US is Veteran's day, it's Remembrance day, Singles day, the Independence of Cartegena, St.Martins' Day, and the list goes on. So we decided that we're going to have a little contest. Anyone that wants will create a contribution, like a mini-kit, can, then the first week of November we will have the members vote on their favorite. The winner will receive a prize! The contributions will be available for anyone who visits the forum/gallery to download for free. We'll post more details about it in the forum within this week, so stay tuned!

Murphy's Law.......

is again alive and well at my house.

I had everything set up to change over to a new server..all files copied and uploaded to new host. Tested links on new host server, everything working fine. Went to my registrar and put in the DNS change to move site to new host. All was well. Then hubby and I decided that after I got off work on Saturday that we were going to go on a long overdue camping trip till Monday morning. We hadn't been camping in 2 years since we moved up here, something always taking time to where we couldn't get away. This time we made time.

So, I went to work on Saturday, and when I got home, we loaded up the truck and off we went. Little did I know what was taking place in my absence......

The DNS change took place, and from there, everything went haywire. The store went into Maintenance mode and the gallery flat disappeared.....Course, I didn't know this till I got home Monday morning! In checking my email, I saw a ton of emails from my designers stating that the store was down and they couldn't get to the gallery. NOOOOOO!!!!

So I checked. Sure enough, nothing was working except the forum and the main page. WTH???

So, I spend all day Monday trying to rebuild the store and gallery, thinking all will be well. So I copy/paste files again, uninstall and reinstall the zen cart, and nothing works. Ok, we're going to go fishing, I'm going to clear my brain and start fresh tomorrow....

Well, here comes today, I start working on the site again and inadvertantly delete a table in the database. I start getting a different error message for the gallery. I can't get the SSH connection to work to import the database again to fix the tables. So I call tech support for the new host. I get Jeremy, who, bless his little heart is as humorous as I am, and in taking care of the database and seeing what's up with the gallery, is giving me little quips and quotes and jokes to keep my brain from going completely into overload from the frustration. He gets the store working!!! WOO HOO!!! He is, however, as clueless as to what happened with the gallery as I am. Corrupt download when I took it off the old host? Couldn't be, the gallery was working when I tested it prior to the DNS change, but now it was looking for a file that cannot be found anywhere. So, I get back into my file structure on the old host.....that same file is nowhere to be found there either.WTH???

So now I'm in the vBulletin site, trying desperately to find out what I can do to get that gallery back up and running....and I still have to weed the garden, and as I sit here trying feverishly to get the gallery up, the temp outside is rising steadily....might have to wait to weed the garden till tonight.

BUT, the store is working! That's a good thing. That eases my mind a bit anyway :)

I'll update more as I get the gallery thing figured out. And, if anyone out there knows why the gallery is suddenly looking for a 'global.php' file that doesn't exist and didn't before, please feel free to let me know, cuz I'm going nuts.

So, the sale is still going on, and all the products are in the store and functional, so all is well there.

Treasure Hunt and Grab Bag Sale this weekend!
